Alameda Firms Win Innovation Awards

Alameda Penumbra

Alameda’s Penumbra, Inc. won a Life Sciences category innovation award.

Penumbra, Inc. and St. George Spirits were recognized last week in the first annual East Bay Innovation Awards ceremony.

Penumbra was given an award in the Life Sciences category, and St. George Spirits earned one in the Food category.

Based on Bay Farm Island in the Harbor Bay Business Park, Penumbra is a medical device company the develops products to help patients suffering from stroke and vascular disease.

Occupying a former aircraft hangar at Alameda Point, St. George Spirits produces fancy alcoholic spirits such as absinthe and botanivore gin.

Four Alameda companies were nominated for awards, which is sponsored by the East Bay Economic Development Alliance.
