The Alameda Unified School District has approved a joint use agreement with Alameda Family Services to replace a health services portable at Encinal High School.(Action Alameda News)
Alameda Family Services provides counseling and other emotional and psychological support services to children, youth and families. In addition to the health center at Encinal High School, it also provides health centers at Alameda High School and Island High School.
The organization applied for the $412,000 grant last year with the intention to purchase the new portable on the school district’s behalf so long as it remains dedicated to health center use.
The health center provides under-served and low-income children and families with a range of health care and social services.
The joint use agreement formalizes the arrangement and allows Alameda Family Services to proceed forward with the grant.
