The Departments of the Navy and Veterans Affairs (VA) have set a public meeting for next month to receive input on the proposed transfer of land at Alameda Point to the VA for the development of an outpatient clinic, offices, and a national cemetery.

By law, the agencies are required to hold a 30-day public comment period to receive written and oral feedback on a draft environmental assessment regarding the transfer. A copy of the draft assessment is online here.

On Thursday, March 14th, the VA and the Navy will hold two identical public hearings at the USS Hornet Museum, docked at Pier 3 at Alameda Point, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. The meetings are each expected to last two hours.

Interested parties can also submit written comment on the draft assessment directly to the VA Environmental Program Manager:
