Elliott Gorelick announced his resignation from the Alameda Health Care District Board on his blog.(Google StreetView)
Mr. Gorelick announced his resignation in a blog post that appeared today, writing, “Although the Hospital is not something people really pay much attention to, its continued existence at a cost to the taxpayers of Alameda in both dollars and death is an embarrassment.”
The Hospital survives only due to a city-wide $300 annual parcel tax which raises some $6 million each year.
Gorelick was elected to the board in November of 2010.
As of press time, he had not yet responded to a request for a statement.
