San Francisco Bay Ferry and the City of Alameda are conducting a study to improve ferry access in Alameda. (File photo)
The study kicks-off with two workshops this month:
Thursday, March 13, 2014
Bay Farm Elementary (near Harbor Bay Ferry Terminal)
200 Aughinbaugh Way, Multi-Purpose Room
6:30 – 8:00pm
Thursday, March 20, 2014
Maya Lin Elementary
825 Taylor Avenue, Multi-Purpose Room
6:30 – 9:00pm
Agency officials say that both the Alameda/Oakland and Harbor Bay ferry services have enjoyed a surge in ridership lately, filling both parking lots and the ferries themselves.
San Francisco Bay Ferry says that, in addition to this study to identify improvements, it is planning schedule enhancements for the coming spring and summer seasons.
Another round of workshops to solicit input on the draft study results will be scheduled later in the summer.
Interested parties who can’t attend the public workshops may also e-mail access_study@watertransit.org by April 30th.
