AUSD to Trade 29 acres of Land for 20 Acres from City

A proposed agreement that the Alameda Unified School District Board of Trustees will vote on tomorrow references two distinct school-district owned Tidelands Trust parcels, bringing to 29.05 acres in total of land that the district will trade to the City of Alameda in return for 20 acres of land.

However, the proposed agreement never directly references the two parcels by civic address or assessor’s parcel number, instead incorporating by reference a 2000 agreement whereby the school district agreed to take title to the property.

That agreement references the parcels by number under a prior assessor’s map.

The current parcel numbers for the property are 72-382-9 (6.4 acres) 72-382-10 (10.65 acres) which combined total 17.05 acres, bringing the total acreage of the property that the school district plans to trade to the City of Alameda to 29.05, compared to the 20 acres of Alameda Point real estate the City of Alameda plans to provide in return.
