The Water Emergency Transportation Authority is proposing three additional Alameda/Oakland to San Francisco morning trips.
San Francisco Bay Ferry says that it has seen ridership increases totaling 30 percent overall through the first eight months of fiscal year 2013 to 2014, which began July 1st, 2013.
Staff propose changes, beginning April 26th, that would see three Alameda/Oakland morning commute trips added to the schedule, providing for 30-minute headways year-round. Evening service would be adjusted to allow earlier departures and create more space.
On the Harbor Bay route, the larger capacity Bay Breeze, set to return to service in mid-April after a refurbishment, would be pressed into service.
More details are available in the board meeting memo, and on the San Francisco Bay Ferry website.
