No Joke: Alameda Sixth-grader Knows How to Get to Carnegie Hall

Isabelle Brown-Lyden, a sixth-grader from Alameda surely knows how to get Carnegie Hall, having played at the famed Manhattan concert venue twice now.

On March 25th, Brown-Lyden performed the Prelude from Cello Suite No.1 in G Major by J.S. Bach at Carnegie, her second performance at the hall and her third in New York City. She recently won second place in the American Protégé Competition for Piano and Strings.

The plucky ACLC student also plays jazz and fiddle music with an all girl group called the Flaming Strings and has performed in benefit concerts around the Bay area since she was five years old.

When not in New York, visiting Dylan’s Candy Bar or petting puppies at the American Kennel Store, Brown-Lyden practices routines for skating competitions at the Oakland Ice Arena, practices with her music teacher, and her cell-playing mom, and spends time at the beach with her dog.
