The Alameda Unified School District’s Measure A Oversight Committee will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at district offices at 2060 Challenger Drive. The meeting is open to the public.

The tax implemented pursuant to Measure A, passed in March, 2011, raises about $12 million per year for the school district and runs through 2018.

The school district has $98 million in expenditures each year, with roughly 75 percent of that going to employee salaries and benefits.

The number of senior exemptions to Measure A has climbed from 2,411 in the 2010 to 2011 fiscal year to 2,871 in the 2012 to 2013 year and to 2,925 in the current year.

The committee will meet in the Ballena Bay Conference Room.
