The median sale price of existing single-family homes in Alameda County rose 5.3 percent in March, according to data from the California Association of Realtors.

The median price in Alameda County was $660,610 in March, compared to $627,550 in February, and $578,310 in March of 2013, a 14.2 percent year-over-year rise.

Sales in Alameda County jumped 51.3 percent from February to March.

The median time on the market for unsold homes in Alameda County edged down to 45.5 days in March, compared to 48.7 days in February and 50.2 days in March last year.

Mortgage rates moved up, as the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage interest rate averaging 4.34 percent, up from 4.3 percent in February, and from 3.57 percent in March of last year.
