Alameda police assisted the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office yesterday with the service of a search/arrest warrant at a Webster Street address.

A wide-ranging effort by local, State and Federal law enforcement officials yesterday, to rein in pimping, pandering and related illegal activities, touched Alameda yesterday when local police assisted the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department in the service of a search/arrest warrant at 1712 Webster Street.

Alameda police say that the 1700 block of Webster Street was closed for about 25 minutes around 11:00 a.m. yesterday during service of the warrant, and that local police personnel assisted the Sheriff’s department.

Over 400 law enforcement officers served multiple search and arrest warrants throughout the Bay Area yesterday, arresting numerous people for crimes such as pimping, pandering, tax evasion, and labor code violations.
