Alameda police are warning of street closures and detours as the city gets ready for its annual fourth of July parade this Friday.

Streets on the parade route, which includes portions of Park Street, Otis Drive, Grand Avenue, Encinal Avenue, Central Avenue and Webster Street, will begin seeing shutdowns as early as 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, with complete closure by 9:00 a.m.

The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. and works its way South on Park to Otis, to Grand, to Encinal to Webster.

Police are reminding motorists and residents to keep vehicles off the parade route and to not move barricades or barriers.

“No Parking” signs have already been posted along the parade route to keep streets clear for spectators.

The entire parade route is expected to be re-opened after 3:00 p.m.
