An Alameda local has been recognized with a California Legislature Assembly Resolution, recognizing his volunteer work with the Alameda Police Department as a child safety seat coordinator.

Bob Rollins, a retired 30-year veteran of the Berkeley Police Department, has worked on over 1,800 child seat installations and inspections for the Alameda Police Department over the last seven years.

Working with Habitot Children’s Museum and the Alameda County Car-seat Workgroup, Rollins organizes four special child car safety educational events a year at the department.

With the Berkeley department, he worked as a motor officers, collision investigator and lead technician for its child safety seat program.

Rollins was recognized last month with the resolution.
