Alameda’s Ultimate Frisbee club will hold clinic and fundraiser barbecue at Lower Washington Park this Sunday.
The club welcomes interested players from all schools in Alameda, and says that ultimate frisbee combines the best features of soccer, basketball, football and netball into an elegant, yet demanding, non-contact sport played with a flying Frisbee disc. Club organizers says that the game helps players develop leadership skills, good sportsmanship, all-around athleticism and lifelong friendships.
The clinic, which costs $10, will introduce participants to the sport and is suited for high-school and middle-school aged boys and girls.
Participation in the barbecue costs another $5.
The event runs from 1pm to 4pm this Sunday, November 2nd and registration is on-site.
