Students at Wood Middle School donate home-made toys to local animal shelters.

Teacher Kasey Brown at Wood Middle School has been teaching a special elective class to get students interested in animal welfare.

For the holidays, her class researched how to make toys for dogs and cats, and then set about creating some, pictured here. (All photos by Kasey Brown.)

The class has already donated some toys to Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, and plans to deliver more, as holiday gifts, to the Oakland shelter this weekend.

It would be great if they could make more and offer them for sale to benefit the alameda animal shelter. I would surely buy some.
