The Alameda Police Department is seeking an $80,000 grant from the state Department of Parks and Recreation to update its patrol boat.

The new boat, 19 feet to 21 feet in length would come with a trailer and would replace a 2001 Almar boat and trailer; the grant is backed with federal funds.

Alameda City Council will review and vote on the matter next Tuesday, January 6th, at its first regular meeting of the year.
