The school district will hold an initial public meeting at 6pm on January 22nd in Island High School’s gymnasium; candidates will give personal statements and members of the public can provide comment.
Sitting trustees will then select their top candidates.
A second meeting, at a location not yet determined, will be held on February 3rd. Sitting trustees will dive deeper into the qualifications of top candidates, and, ultimately, will vote on who they think should be appointed to the open seat. This meeting, too, will be open for public comment.
The district does not expect to live-televise either meeting, but will record them and post videos to the school district’s website; it also intends to live-tweet during the meetings.
