The special meetings need to be called to meet the requirements of the Brown Act, which states that a quorum of city council members assembled in a public meeting must be noticed to the public.
One of the special meetings will allow the council to discuss plans to replace City Manager John Russo, who has announced his intent to take on the City Manager position in Riverside, California.
Another meeting has been organized by the Department of Public Works to discuss options from improving Clement Avenue between Grand Street and Broadway. Potential improvements may include removing the abandoned railroad tracks, installing a bikeway, and enhancing pedestrian access. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 2 at 6:30pm in the Main Library’s Stafford Room. A tentative date for the third community workshop is Wednesday, April 29 at 6:30pm
