The 29th Ave. overcrossing will be demolished, impacting people who enter and leave Alameda via Park Street. (Google Street View)
Caltrans plans to close 29th Avenue between Ford Street, just north of the Estuary, and East 10th Street for 18 months, beginning in April.
The overcrossing will be demolished and rebuilt in place, necessitating intermittent night-time freeway closures in both directions on I-880, and periodic on/off ramp closures.
The Alameda open house is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18th, at 6pm, at the Alameda Free Library.
