The City of Alameda is inviting applications from candidates to fill an open landlord seat on the Rent Review Advisory Committee.

The committee is comprised of five volunteer members: two owners, two renters, and one homeowner.

According to the city’s website, the body meets as needed to review complaints of significant rental increases, providing a neutral forum for renters and residential property owners to present their views. It evaluates increases, determines whether they are equitable, and, if not, attempts to mediate a resolution acceptable to all parties.

Application forms may be obtained from the City Clerk, Alameda City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Room 380, or by telephoning the Office of the City Clerk at 747-4800, or via the city’s website.
