News broke late last month that Russo had accepted a position with the City of Riverside; the City of Alameda confirmed shortly thereafter, confirming his exit.
After the closed session last week, Alameda Mayor Trish Spencer announced that city council had approved Warmerdam’s appointment, and she had accepted.
Spencer said that a formal agreement would be brought back before City Council.
The appointment occurred too late for that agreement to be presented at tomorrow’s council meeting, but it may be on the March 28th meeting agenda.
Russo appointed Warmerdam his assistant in December, 2012.
Shed had been the deputy city manager for the City of Hercules.
