Yesterday, police received a call from a west-end parent who said that her daughter was sexually assaulted in her bedroom, by somebody who cut through the screen in her open window.
Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab technicians and Alameda Police Department detectives are investigating.
The assault follows a string of six so-called “hot prowl” burglaries in the west-end between June 16th and August 9th.
In each case the suspect is described as a dark skinned male, 18 years of age or older, 150lbs, with a haircut that is curly on top and short on the sides. A photograph of a person of interest was sent to other police agencies in hopes of identifying the man.
The Alameda Police Department has increased uniformed and plain-clothed patrols in the west end.
