Coastal Clean-up Day Coming to Crown Beach

Coastal Clean-up Day is next Saturday, September 19th. Clean Water Program Alameda County organizers are asking for volunteers to come out that morning and pick up litter from the beach.

The Program’s member agencies are, according to its website: Alameda County, the cities of Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, Union City, the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, and the Zone 7 Water Agency.

The clean-up for Crown Memorial State Beach runs from 8:30am to 12 noon on Saturday, the nineteenth; the muster point for volunteers is the intersection of Park Street and Shore Line Drive.

Volunteers should bring a refillable water bottle, a bucket for trash, a hat and gloves. All volunteers should wear closed toed shoes, appropriate layered clothing and bring sunscreen. Snacks, water, disposable gloves and trash bags will be provided.
