The city realized sales tax revenue of $2.49 million based on sales from July 1st through September 30th, up $516,292 from the same quarter in 2014. However, this is subject to revision next quarter as a reporting error from an Alameda Landing retailer gets cleaned-up.
The Park Street – South of Lincoln district contributed 8.4 percent of total sales tax revenue for the quarter, lower than South Shore Center (13.4 percent), Harbor Bay Business Park (20.8 percent) and Alameda Landing (25.7 percent). The district is host to the Alameda cineplex and civic center parking garage, a redevelopment project that boosters, over ten years ago, promised would drive sales tax revenue for the city.
