There will be a public meeting on March 14th to discuss renovation of the Encinal Boat Launch. (Action Alameda News)
Weather and use has taken its toll on the facility, tucked away in the West End between Encinal High School and Alameda Point.
Plans for the renovation include:
- Replacing the existing dock float and adding a dock for non-motorized watercraft.
- Renovating the boat ramp, parking lot, and restroom facility.
- Creating improved ADA access.
- Adding a fish cleaning station and parking lot lighting.
The design and planning is funded by a grant through the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 14th at 6 p.m. at the Washington Park Recreation Center, at Washington Park at the corner of Central Avenue and Eighth Street.
