“People and their Pets: Disaster Preparedness and Response” covers how to create a family emergency plan and what to put in a disaster kit for both people and pets.
The workshop will also explain what to do and whom to call in the event of a disaster, and how to keep pets safe in the event of injury or evacuation.
The event is scheduled for this Saturday, April 2nd, from 10 a.m. to noon in council chambers at City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.
No reservations are necessary.
The federal government passed a law in 2006 requiring local authorities to include pets in their disaster preparedness plans.
