West Teak furniture, listed as West Teak, Inc. on the Secretary of State website, but Teak West in the Franchise Tax Board’s list, has been listed at different times with an Alameda Point or an Encinal Avenue address.
The tax board reports the corporation is in arrears to the tune of $398,024.26 for corporate income tax; a lien was field against the company last May.
It seems unlikely the State of California is going to collect any time soon, however.
The Yelp page for the retailer, while listing favorable reviews, notes the business is closed, and a published website for the company does not work.
The company’s Facebook page hasn’t been updated since 2013, when it was reportedly helping rebuild the Jersey shore after hurricane Sandy.
Interest, fees, and penalties levied by the state can total as much as 50 percent of the tax due.
