Based on the police activity log, the action started around 10:30 p.m. with reports of a man brandishing a firearm in a threatening manner while driving.
Residents took to the Nextdoor community website with photos and questions, asking, “7 police cars speeding down Lincoln, heading west. Any idea what is going on?”
The racing driver then collided with an Alameda police cruiser.
According to a KRON news report, the driver was, “traveling at a high rate of speed [and] t-boned the patrol car. The patrol car hit a light pole and caught on fire. The officer was trapped in the car and citizens had to assist in rescuing him.”
Police arrested Emmith Del Rosairo, 19, on felony hit and run charges, and possession of concentrated cannibas.
Lt. Hosh Durani of the Alameda Police Department told Action Alameda News this morning that the officer in the cruiser, “has been released from the hospital and is resting at home.”
