The Alameda Free Library is planning to screen a documentary based on a 1,200 mile journey by a GPS-tracked wolf.

The Wolf OR-7 Expedition documentary retraces a six-person expedition team that retraced, by bicycle and on foot, a route taken by OR-7, a.k.a. “Journey,” a wolf born in northeastern Oregon who left his pack in 2011 and ventured south.

He is reportedly the first known wolf in California in 90 years.

The screening, open to all, and of particular interest to families with children, will take place on Saturday, June 11th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the main library.

There will be a question and answer session with expedition member Jay Simpson after the screening.
