The state-mandated oversight committee is made up of 11 community members, including parents and district employees, and reviews the school district’s compliance with the terms of the measure.
The committee meets four or five times between January and December of each year, culminating in an annual report and a shorter committee report, presented to the school district board in January.
Applications for this year’s committee are available in multiple languages, via the district’s website, by calling the district’s administrative office (510-337-7066) or in-person at the district’s office at 2060 Challenger Drive.
Completed applications must be received at the district office no later than 5 p.m. on September 19, with appointments announced September 27.
Five years into Measure A, the school district has placed a renewal of the parcel tax on this year’s November ballot, Measure B1.
