Yesterday at around 8:15 a.m., police responded to a report that two girls, ages seven and ten, were walking to school along the Sheffield Way walking path when they were approached by a male subject who attempted to physically grab one of them.
The girls ran away to a nearby house and the homeowner called police.
The subject was described as a white male 20-35 years of age, 5’10” to 6’ tall, short blonde hair, and wearing all black clothing.
In a Facebook, posting, police officials wrote, “the juveniles were thoroughly interviewed by forensics interview specialists and detectives examined various physical evidence. So far, detectives have not been able to corroborate an actual kidnapping attempt or gather any additional leads to further the investigation.”
Officials ask that anyone with further information contact the Alameda police department.
