Next month, the Alameda Free Library’s Libraries Outside program travels to the Marin Headlands.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 4th at 12 Noon.

Participants will meet at the bus stop at the Rodeo Beach parking lot and walk around the lagoon, then up and over the hill to the Point Bonita Lighthouse.

The five-mile total walk is mostly flat; picnic sites abound for eating lunch.

Shoes with good traction are advised for the steeper approach to the lighthouse, which is open from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Library waivers are required for this event and are available, along with additional information about transit options, by contacting the Main Library Reference Desk by phone at (510) 747-7713, or through the Libraries Outside page at www.librariesoutside.us.

All ages are welcome at this free event.
