The check represents funds collected in the 2016 to 2017 fiscal year by Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) for Power Up for Learning, a joint program of AMP and AEF. The funding supports the island-wide robotics program based out of Wood Middle School.
AMP customers fund the program by adding a contribution amount of their choice to their monthly electric bill. Monthly contributions start at $1.
The money supports technology education for Alameda public school students. Since the program began in 2004, AMP has collected over $75,000 for Alameda’s public school students.
From now until November 30, AMP will donate $50 for every new sign-up.
