Teens out of school for the Thanksgiving week may be interested in a creative writing workshop on Tuesday at the main library.

The workshop is in honor of National Novel Writing Month, an organization based in Berkeley.

Attendees can expect to learn how to get started with writing, deal with writers block, and how to edit and polish written works.

Coaches will go over writing tips and challenge participants with writing prompts; teens will have the opportunity to share work at the end of the workshop, even if it’s something the wrote previously.

The event is for teens, ages 13 to 18, and will be held in the Regina K. Stafford Room at the Main Library on 1550 Oak Street.

Attendees can bring a laptop or tablet if they prefer that to pencil and paper.

RSVP by emailing Teen Librarian Hallie Fields at hfields@alamedaca.gov.
