Alameda Point Restoration Advisory Board Participant Concerned About Reduction of Community Cleanup Meetings

Carol Gottstein, M.D., of Alameda, is an historical consultant to the Restoration Advisory Board, a joint U.S. Navy and community group overseeing efforts to clean up the former Naval Air Station Alameda, now Alameda Point. She’s concerned that proposals to reduce the frequency of Board meetings may lead to the premature elimination of the oversight body.

Court Dismisses SunCal’s Fraud Claims Against Ann Marie Gallant

Yesterday, a federal court judge dismissed fraud claims against former Interim City Manager Ann Marie Gallant, in a lawsuit against the City of Alameda over the city’s termination of SunCal as the master developer for Alameda Point. The case is 10-cv-05178-CRB in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Feds Give Gifts to City of Alameda

The City of Alameda announced late last week that the Office of Economic Adjustment under the Department of Defense has awarded the City of Alameda $225,000 to prepare a detailed economic development strategy for Alameda Point. Also, on October 5th, Alameda City Council, sitting as the Alameda Reuse and Redevelopment Authority (ARRA) will vote on a term sheet between the U.S. Navy and the City to transfer Alameda Point to ARRA at no cost.
