The Alameda Landing site, on the former Navy Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC) has been sold to private investment firm TPG Capital. Catellus had planned to build over 300 homes and several hundred thousand square feet of retail and office site at the location just across the estuary from Oakland’s Jack London Square. The San Francisco Business Times is reporting that Target has acquired the former Home Depot Expo store location in the massive big-box store theme park on the border of Oakland and Emeryville. Catellus [...] During a Dec. 2, City Council meeting, issues regarding a $3 million repayment of Alameda’s sewer fund was debated. Work on removing the debris from the Fleet Industrial Supply Center’s (FISC) burned down hospital, is almost finished. In order to complete the work of demolishing the hospital and cleaning up the area, the CIC had to borrow $3 million from the sewer fund. [...] Alameda Landing project is an approved redevelopment agreement between Community Improvement Commission (CIC) and Palmtree Acquisition Corporation (PAC). In December 2005, PAC was hired to transform part of the Fleet Industrial Supply Center, into 400,000 square feet of office space and 300,000 square feet of retail space. This redevelopment will also include a public waterfront park. ProLogis owns Catellus, which is the master developer for the Alameda Landing project. The Austin Business Journal reported that ProLogis is halting construction nationwide.
