Jessica Robinson, an Alameda resident and actor who has participated multiple times in the Miss California USA pageant as “Miss Alameda,” will participate this year in the “Real Crown Champion: Ms. and Mrs. Orange County Regional Pageant” which raises funds for the Susan G Komen for the Cure foundation, which fights breast cancer. Robinson was was called by pageant organizers and invited to participate. Local actor Jessica Robinson appears in a newly released video, “Bad Girl,” by Pleasure Ellis and produced by MC Hammer. Local actress Jessica Robinson has completed principal photography for her short film “Recycle Woman,” which was shot at various locations around Alameda. Robinson has competed in the Miss California USA pageant as Miss Alameda. Jessica Robinson, an Alameda-based actress, model and dancer, expects to begin filming in Alameda next month of a short film that she conceived to educate the public about the value of recycling and composting. In the past, Ms. Robinson has had roles in TV series such as NBC’s “Trauma” and the Discovery channel’s “I Almost Got Away With It.” Robinson is also competing later this month as Miss Alameda in the Miss California USA pageant. Yesterday, Juan Carlos Vazquez, the owner of Alameda’s Taqueria Viva Mexico was presented with an award for implementing a commercial landfill diversion program at his restaurant. The award was sponsored by the Sierra Club Zero Waste Committee and the Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda (CASA), and presented by Miss Alameda Jessica Robinson. Alameda’s Jessica Robinson, who is competing this year for the title of Miss California USA as Miss Alameda will co-host an event tonight at the Epi Center MedSpa in San Francisco that will see a portion of the proceeds donated to support the children and families affected by the San Bruno fire. Designer Christopher Collins of Project Runway will also provide a preview of his 2010 line. Miss Alameda will make an appearance at Alameda’s Salon Marcello on Sunday to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The salon is offering $20 haircuts, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Last month, the California Resource Recovery Association recognized Jessica Robinson, competing as Miss Alameda in this year’s Miss California USA contest, and the Alameda Unified School District with the “Next Generation” recycler award for work inspiring the next generation of recyclers. Yesterday, Miss Alameda, Jessica Robinson, gave an opening address at the Green Home Expo at Alameda’s Towne Centre shopping center. The expo was an event intended to promote awareness of “green” building and lifestyles, hosted by the Alameda Association of Realtors. |
