Alameda Boys & Girls Club Violates I.R.S. Rules With Contribution to Mayor Marie Gilmore’s Campaign

Newly filed election campaign statements by Alameda Mayor Marie Gilmore show that on May 16th, the Alameda Boys & Girls Club, an organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt non-profit, gave $250 to Ms. Gilmore’s campaign, apparently in violation of I.R.S. prohibitions against non-profits directly giving campaign contributions to political candidates.
